Have you ever been on a romantic date and just as the convo starts gaining momentum your waiter butts in asking 1,001 questions and listing the specials? Of course there hasn’t been a chance to read the menu yet, you mumble that you need some more time and the two of you are left in awkward silence as your brains race to remember what you had been talking about.
At Maedaya Sake & Grill you will be able to avoid this scene altogether. Because instead of a paper and ink menu, when you walk through the door you are handed an iPad. Then whenever you feel like it just tap a picture of food that you feel like eating or a drink that you feel like drinking and it appears at your table as if you just downloaded a delicious app! The food here is very deserving of the delicious title, straight off the grill which is positioned in the centre of the restaurant. The best bit is you can chat away and just keep ordering as you eat. It also has a unique atmosphere thanks mainly to the interesting rope installation.
If you are looking for a smooth way to arrange a follow up date, you can order one of the enormous bottles of sake and whatever you don’t finish can be locked up in a sake safe. If your relationship doesn’t make it to the next time, is there a better way to forget the past and move on than three quarters of a bottle of sake and a magic iPad? Another option is just to get the sake tasting paddle, but what you tap on is up to you.
